According to Joanne Cleaver, the founder of Wilson-Taylor Associates, women love public accounting, but they leave it. The Grassi & Co. Women’s Initiative has been formed with the goal of using the group’s diverse experience to develop, promote and retain the firm’s female talent. By creating a supportive and encouraging network, the group hopes to motivate and support the professional development of the women at Grassi & Co.
The Women’s Initiative will provide programs and resources aimed at increasing visibility for the firm’s female population through both the media and industry organizations, and to enhance the success of women at the firm. Some of the initial programs will include communication skills, branding, health and financial fitness, and building both internal and external networks. The first program, slated for September 8th, will be a Q&A panel including: Louis C. Grassi, CPA, CFE Managing Partner of Grassi & Co.; Michele Glattfelder, Firm Administrator at Grassi & Co.; and Geri A. Gregor, CPA, Partner-in-Charge of Grassi & Co.’s Consulting Division and the first female partner at Grassi & Co.
They will discuss their paths to success and what women can do throughout their careers to break through the proverbial “glass ceiling.”
