Malpractice: An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure

MALPRACTICE: AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION IS WORTH A POUND OF CURE

Have you named a malpractice attorney on your policy?  Similar to finding an attorney or accountant, you should interview malpractice attorneys.  Do they have experience representing cases in your specialty?  Have the successfully defended multi cases in your specialty?    Malpractice attorneys can spend time inside your practice and identify specific risk factors associated with malpractice cases.    Are your consents sufficient? A malpractice attorney can review your consents for accuracy and prevention clauses.    Once you have successfully chosen an attorney, name him/her on your policy. Call your carrier for a list of malpractice attorney groups. You should feel comfortable with someone who may help you prevent malpractice or defend you in a lawsuit.
