Next Steps for Paid Family Leave

Grassi & Co. hosted a webinar on the NYS Paid Family Leave Act. Below are some important next steps for you to follow:
 

  • Contact your DBL provider and add the NYS paid family leave policy
  • Decide on a date when employee deductions will start
  • Create a notice to inform employees of the deduction and about the benefit
  • Contact your payroll company to add the deduction on your start date
  • Discuss with your management team about how you will handle the coverage for employee's when they use this benefit
  • Appoint someone to handle these requests if you do not have a designated benefits representative
