Joseph Leocata, Esq., CPA, MBA Tax Controversy Manager
Joseph Leocata is a Manager in the Tax Controversy Services department at Grassi and brings over 7 years of experience to the firm. In his role, Joe represents individuals, partnerships and corporations in federal, state and local tax matters, such as audits and appeals involving income, sales and use, payroll, employment, tax exempt, and residency tax issues. Joe works with clients across a broad range of industries, including construction, manufacturing & distribution, real estate, trusts and estate, nonprofit, healthcare, retail, financial services, energy, and technology.
Joe is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, in which he was previously a vice-chair of the Tax Law Committee, and NYS Society of CPA’s Suffolk Chapter. He is admitted to New York State Bar, Eastern District of New York and the United States Tax Court and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New York.
Joe received his Juris Doctorate from Touro Law Center and was on the Touro Law Review. He also received his degrees in Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Masters of Business Administration from St. Joseph’s College.
