Michael Hochman, CPA, CCIFP Partner, Co-Leader of New Jersey Market
Michael Hochman is a Partner at Grassi, where he serves as the Co-Leader of the New Jersey Market. As a key member of Grassi’s leadership team, he sat on the firm’s Executive Committee for seven years.
Michael has broad experience in tax planning and return preparation for corporations, individuals, and partnerships and represents clients before both federal and state taxing authorities. He provides clients with business advisory services and financial reporting and also serves as a consultant to the litigation support practice on issues such as matrimonial disputes, bankruptcy, and construction and estate litigation issues.
Michael maintains a vast client base reflecting a wide spectrum of industries, including construction, manufacturing & distribution and real estate. He is passionate about advising business owners on how to grow their businesses, mitigate taxes, reduce risk and remain profitable in any economic climate. Drawing from more than 35 years of experience, he guides his clients through major life events, including business start-ups, mergers and acquisitions, business exits, litigation matters and retirement.
Michael regularly gives back to his local and professional communities. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Jewish Home Foundation of North Jersey and is a past board member of the United Way of Rockland County. Michael also supports a wide range of professional organizations that are committed to strengthening the business community. He is a member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJSCPA), American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), Subcontractors Trade Association (STA), New Jersey Subcontractors Association (NJSA), Utility & Transportation Contractors Association of NJ (UTCA), Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and Construction Contractors Association (CCA).
Michael has shared his business insights in NJBIZ, ROI-NJ and Commerce Magazine and speaks frequently on topics of value to business owners, particularly in the NJ construction and manufacturing and distribution industries. He has made inroads in the state’s banking, bonding and legal communities and works collaboratively with other business advisors to help his clients thrive.
Michael earned his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the University of Florida.
