Shashi Singal, CPA, MSA, CA Partner

Shashi Singal is a Partner at Grassi and brings over 20 years of diversified tax and accounting experience to the firm. Shashi has expertise in strategic tax planning, projections and compliance. She provides guidance to clients on mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring and tax incentives and helps them achieve their full tax-savings potential. She has also advised multinational businesses on the tax implications of both in-bound and out-bound business activities.

Shashi works with clients primarily in the manufacturing & distribution, wholesale and retail industries, as well as law firms, architecture and engineering firms, real estate companies, family partnerships and private foundations.

Prior to joining Grassi, Shashi worked at a regional firm for nine years and was part of their senior staff. In her role, Shashi was responsible for planning and managing audits, reviews and compilations, preparation and review of tax returns, tax projections, financial statements and budgets for a wide variety of clients, including ERISA benefit plans.

A published author and frequent speaker, her insights into tax law and planning strategies have appeared in Crain’s New York Business, Long Island Business News, NJBIZ, Tax Stringer and other leading business publications. She has lent her expertise on various tax topics to panel discussions at the NYSSCPA’s 2019 Qualified Opportunity Zones Symposium, Accountants World, and Strafford CPE. She has also presented on emerging tax issues in the M&D sector for various business associations, including the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the Hauppauge Industrial Association of Long Island (HIA-LI).

Shashi was recognized as one of the Top 50 Women in Business by Long Island Business News in 2022 and featured among the 2021 Women in Commercial Real Estate by New York Real Estate Journal.

Outside of her role as Partner, Shashi is very engaged within the firm as well. She participates in the firm’s mentorship and trainings programs, guiding up-and-coming staff members as they navigate issues related to both accounting and career development.

Shashi has participated in many firm-run charitable initiatives and is an active supporter of the Grassi Women’s Council. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Shashi holds an MSA degree from Queens College. She is fluent in Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi (Indian regional languages).
